year. Sundance Bear Lodge, situated on over 80
acres of trees, pasture and canyon, is a
perfect place for families to play and relax.
Horseback ride with local outfitters high in the
pine forest -- visit Mesa Verde National Park
and learn about the ancient Native Americans.
The guest house is 1700 sq. ft. of comfort
complete with full kitchen, gas BBQ, picnic
tables. Decor is southwestern casual luxury for
this handicap accessible house. Beds are king
plus single, king, and 2 queens; plus an air
cushion mattress sofa sleeper in the great room.
If your group is even larger, consider renting
all of Sundance Bear Lodge (2 lodge rooms plus a
log cabin). Plan well ahead; July is the busiest
month of the year. Small retreat groups welcome
Mid Sept.-May.
Features and Activities
Miles of national forest, Mesa Verde
National Park, and the San Juan Skyway
beckon guests. Take a day to ride the
Durango-Silverton steam train. Day
trips to Chaco Canyon, Hovenweep, Moab
create a vaction with ample activity.
