Antique shopping in many local, quaint shops can provide hours of fun for everyone. Enjoy golf at the adjacent Pine Meadows Country Club or any of 9 other area golf courses. Try your luck at Hondah Casino or Matazal Casino, either less than an hour's drive away. Catch some of Arizona's best fishing in the 20 nearby lakes and over 100 miles of fishable streams, all teeming with hungry trout. The state's finest big game hunting is available here, with elk, deer, black bear, and turkey topping the list of favorite hunts.

Winter activities include excellent cross-country skiing and sledding in the adjacent Apache Sitgreaves National Forest, or world-class alpine skiing at nearby Sunrise Ski Resort.
