this unforgettable view!! Villa della Torre is a large, historic estate, perched on a
hilltop amidst a lush green countryside halfway between Florence and Siena. This location
is outstanding: From the garden you can enjoy stunning views of the gentle rolling hills,
vineyards, olive trees leading to the extraordinary ancient towers of San Gimignano in the
distance. The valley below is of rare beauty. The massive walls, high wood-paneled ceilings,
arches, wall friezes and wall frescoes, stuccoes and hand-painted ceilings in some of the
rooms enhance the special atmosphere of this ancient house. The apartments have retained
a charming ancient character due to the original antique furniture. Tuscan coloured walls,
terracotta floors, beautiful mirrors with gold-painted baroque frames create a charming
atmosphere resonant with history and art.
Garden: The estate guarantees privacy: altogether the apartments occupy an area of 900 m2;
each has its own outdoor area, either in the large garden, under the old holm oaks, on a
terrace or in a small inner court at the rear of the villa. These lovely outdoor spots are
separated from each other, thus guaranteeing a tranquil and very private atmosphere. The
beautiful classical Tuscan garden with hand-carved stone balusters is laid out on the south
side of the villa.
Pool: Rosemary and lavender bushes line the path to the large and extremely elegant pool,
which is spectacularly located on a plateau of English lawn and sits high above the valley.
Even when swimming in the pool you can savor the enchanting view of one of the most beautiful
Chianti valleys. The panoramic view is magnificent, maybe even unsurpassable. And to add to
your pleasure, the park and the pool are romantically lit in the evening. It may sound
exaggerated but we want to say it: you can feel the surface of the globe here!
Features and Activities
Villa della Torre is a good starting point to explore Tuscany: situated in the heart of
Chianti, it is a short drive to Florence and Siena. One hour of riving takes you to the
sea. A family-owned Tuscan restaurant with a nice patio, a small alimentary (corner store)
and one of the oldest churches of the region are within walking distance (300 m). In the
proximity of the villa there is a great variety of small trattorias and specialty
restaurants - each night you can dine in a new place (we will provide you with tips for
this region). 2 km away you can find smaller stores; a big supermarket in Certaldo is 7
km away. Villa della Torre is an active "Azienda Agricola" and cultivates the neighboring
fields. You may stroll through the olive groves and vineyards surrounding the Villa and taste
the excellent Chianti wine, olive oil and superb grappa produced by the farm.

TORRE 60 sq. m. (3 Pers.):
1 room with high ceiling, bookshelf, writing desk, double bed and extra bed, 1
kitchen, 1 bathroom (shower). Torre is located in the imposing medieval tower.
The apartment is traditionally furnished with antiques in plain country-house style.
The height of the tower room ceiling gives the ambience here an added touch of class.
Torre is located in the villa, on the first floor. Enjoy the view of the garden.
LE VOLTE 85 sq. m. (2+1 Pers.):
1 living room with fireplace and single divan-bed (access to the inner court), 1 small
kitchen, 1 double bedroom (with outdoor access), 1 bathroom (bathtub). Le Volte is
located on the rear of the villa (the park is on the other side). This apartment used
to house the riding stables of the estate. Today the apartment is fully renovated. Its
outstanding feature is the large, somewhat dark living room with fireplace with its
beautiful, antique brick ceiling vaults, resting on a central pillar. The long, wooden
dining table can seat a larger group of people. Le Volte is laid out on the ground floor
and the two exits are especially convenient if you are traveling with three persons: both
\the bedroom and the larger living room with sofa bed have exits to the inner court.
AFFRESCO 35 sq. m. (2 Pers.):
1 frescoed room with double bed, a sitting area by the window and a small kitchenette
(in the corner between the bedroom and bathroom for preparing breakfast or a light meal),
1 bathroom (shower). Affresco offers elegance on a small scale. This tiny apartment bears
more resemblance to a bedroom than to an apartment, but it is charming and romantic with
walls and ceilings adorned with frescoes in subdued colours. Affresco is located in the

CAMINETTO 115 sq. m. (4 Pers.):
1 living room with fireplace, 1 kitchen, 1 walk-through room with writing desk, 2 double
bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (shower). Caminetto is the only apartment on the main floor of the
villa. This main floor is accessible via a flight of steps. As it has two bathrooms and
it is spacious it is ideal for two couples. It allows a lot of sunlight to shine in. The
outdoor areas of those apartments are located inside the garden of the villa.
CORTILE 85 sq. m. (4 Pers.):
1 kitchen and living room, 1 walk-through room with sofa, 2 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms
(shower). Cortile is a nice apartment on the first floor with modern design. As it has
two bathrooms it is ideal for two couples. It allows a lot of sunlight to shine in and
offers a great view of the park and the countryside. In addition, in the hot season it
stays nice and cool.
