The remarkably elegant Château de Labessière is located in the Lorraine region of France.
The Château de Labessière is a lovely seventeenth century chateau located in a small village
of 591 people between the Champagne and Alsace regions of France. Elegant accommodations and
superlative hospitality distinguish the Château as the finest bed and breakfast in the Meuse
region. Guest comfort is placed above all else.
American visitors to Labessière will receive special consideration as the owners offer their
exclusive "US Pack" that includes your beautiful guest room, an apéritif, a four-course
dinner with a bottle of wine, brandy and breakfast -- all for $75 per person per night.
Features and Activities
The location near the World War I battlefields and Verdun makes this château an ideal base
for visits to those sites and for tours of Champagne and Lorraine. Steeped in history,
this lovely château was built in 1720 by an aristocrat from Castres and Languedoc. It
remained in the Labessière family until the last count died in 1957. The present owners
purchased the château in 1981 and spent seven years restoring it to its former glory.
They will put your comfort above all else. Enjoy a Mirabelle brandy after dinner in the
Louis XV lounge or at poolside in the summer. And, at the end of a busy day touring the
region, your antique-furnished guest room will warmly welcome you back to Labessière.
